Does it need a mobile app?
No. Everything runs in a browser-based Web App. Use Chrome or Edge on desktop and Android, or Bluefy on iOS. Nothing to download, and updates are deployed server-side.
Can I display my own photos?
Yes. Select a file from your gallery and the Web App processes it to 480 × 800 (portrait) or 800 × 480 (landscape) before sending it over Bluetooth.
Is it a WiFi digital picture frame?
No. It pairs over Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 — no network to configure, no account, no cloud round-trip. Images travel directly from your browser to the frame.
Is it easy on the eyes?
Yes. E Ink Spectra 6 is non-emissive: it reflects room light rather than shining light at you. No backlight, no flicker, no blue glow — noticeably gentler than an LCD panel, especially in a bedroom or study.
Can I use it as an AI art frame?
Yes. The built-in AI Text-to-Image panel generates artwork at the exact panel resolution, with Qwen-Image, FLUX, Krea-2-Turbo and SDXL 1.0 available. A free ModelScope API Key is required.
Can I restore old family photos?
Yes. Upload a digital copy and the Web App repairs fading and scratches, colorizes black-and-white images with natural skin tones, and upscales the result for the 7.3-inch panel. Your original stays with you.
How fast does the display refresh?
A full six-color refresh takes roughly 15–22 seconds. That is normal for Spectra 6 e-paper — and why the frame can then hold the image indefinitely without drawing power.
Can it be wall mounted?
No. The GDP073EW1 is designed as a tabletop piece with its own stand. VESA mounting is not supported. It fits comfortably on a desk, shelf, bedside table or console.
What power supply should I use?
Use the Type-C port with a 5 V / 2 A adapter. Power banks are physically compatible, but most output 5 V / 3 A, which can cause abnormal refresh behaviour. An adapter is not included.
How is E Ink different from an LCD frame?
An LCD frame lights up. An E Ink frame does not. It reflects the light already in the room, so the image reads like printed paper rather than a screen. It is also far more power-efficient, and the picture remains visible even when power is removed.
